Invisible braces or orthodontics therapy is a method of orthodontic treatment that utilizes thin, clear aligners to be worn by the patient on the upper and lower arches to gradually straighten teeth. Bethesda Dental Care uses the “Sure Smile” system to achieve the beautiful straight teeth you’ve always wanted without braces (no metal wires, bands or brackets). Sure Smile is a popular and patient tested delivery system of clear aligner orthodontics and we are a certified provider.

What is it?

Sure Smile uses a series of invisible, removable, and comfortable aligners that no one will know you’re wearing. You will smile during treatment as well as after. You can remove the aligners to eat and drink during treatment. Plus, brushing and flossing is not problem. The aligners are comfortable, with no unsightly metal wires or brackets that may irritate your cheeks or lips. Less time in your doctor’s office getting adjustment is also a bonus. The trays are fabricated using 3D computer imaging technology and has been proven effective. The system allows you to view your own virtual treatment plan on a computer so you will know how your smile will look if you decide to go forward with treatment.

How does it work?

You wear each set of aligners for 7-14 days, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move — little by little, week by week — until they have straightened to their final positions. You’ll visit us about once every six weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned. Total treatment time varies from 3-6 months for small cases to nine to 15 months for bigger cases, and the number of aligners worn during treatment is between 14 and 30, but both numbers will vary from case to case.
