Since 1985 CEREC by Sirona has remained the preferred CAD/CAM technology of dentists worldwide for the fabrication of all-ceramic dental restorations in a single treatment appointment. Cerec eliminates the need for messy dental impressions. Instead, the small 3D scanner (camera) is used to capture an image of the patient’s teeth and loads it into the computer. Using CAD technology, crowns and veneers are designed on the computer and fabricated with the milling unit. The restoration is cemented and the procedure is complete. The patient will not have to deal with the inconvenience of a “temporary” restoration and will not need to return for a second appointment 3 weeks later for cementation.

Beautiful smiles can be created with all ceramic anterior crowns and veneers. Discolored, misshaped or fractured teeth can be restored in one visit. That “Hollywood Smile” is easier than many may have realized.
